Karisma Kapoor, a beloved Bollywood actress who has charmed the audience with her on-screen performances for years, had once revealed that she was mentally harassed by her ex-husband Sunjay.
Karisma married Sunjay Kapur, the CEO of Sixt India, at her ancestral home, Krishna Raj in Mumbai. Together the couple has a daughter, Samaira (16), and son, Kiaan (11).
In 2014, the couple filed for divorce through mutual consent. In November 2015, the couple had filed applications to withdraw their consent to it. The couple's divorce was finalised in 2016.
Mental trauma faced by Karisma:
Karisma had filed a dowry harassment case against Sunjay and his mother, Rani. Allegedly, Sunjay also went to the extent of telling his mother to slap Karisma because she couldn't fit into a dress when she was pregnant.
Karisma reportedly claimed that he had said, "Why don't you just slap her?" to his mother. She had also revealed that the mother-son duo was extremely cruel towards her.
The mental abuse started early on, apparently on the honeymoon itself. Karisma had also once stated in an interview that Sunjay asked Karisma to sleep with one of his friends and when she refused, he beat her. He even quoted her price to his friend. His mother too would beat Karisma.
Reportedly, Sunjay would stay with his wife of his previous marriage and have a relationship with her while he was married to Karisma.
